Of My Children
O, you, that carry me
That leave me never behind
O you, children, light of my eyes
That carry me ever forward
That carry, unknowingly, the tremendous weight I carry
And make it ever light, my lack of lightness of being
Unbearable, yet never fleeting
And you, that shine that light over unbearable me
When darkness ever prevails
Even through the light that I shine myself
Through the shadows that envelop me
(Light I cannot see)
Enclose me, yet extract me to make you me
Remove me deeply from the I and the eye of the I and the eye of my I and my eye
And my eyes that see little from what they could see
Make me see more within than I would ever, farther and further
Without me
But the anchor, my children?
The anchor is thee.
