On Brotherhood
Feeling your pain, at a distance
Shining minds brought down by iniquity
Incongruence, envy, despair
A brother's smile, while dwelling in pain
Still doesn't hide, still doesn't mime
Come open pain? Still never wanes
Brothers in paternal orphanage
But also of mind and resolve
In strength and candid weakness unveiled
Of ashes to scatter
From Darkness to Light
Always within the latter, even where the former prevails
Would if I could transfer to me
The sting of injustice
Arraigned in scrutiny
Dealing with the presumptous
Blatantly illiterate
Who fool others that also can't read
No one's fault but their own
O my Brother,
That they're unable to read:
You
Me
Us.
